From the case file. Only what you learn on the first night.
You play Nora.
Short and clear, gives the orders, dry jokes. She would walk into danger first to keep her team out of it.
Twelve years ago her sister Lily went missing in Harlow. She hasn't been back since.
We stay in pairs, minimum. Nobody goes anywhere alone. Not to pee, not to cry, not to die. Got it?
Careful, asks the questions, the team's conscience. She argues against a dangerous call, then backs it once it's made. Under stress she hides in medical terms.
An old friend, and your second.
I always pack the good tape. You just never notice until you need it.
Warm, sarcastic, calm. She jokes the tension away. Talks to Juno all the time, and tells you what Juno "says".
She trusts Juno blindly, and knows better than anyone how Juno is with you.
Don't take it personal. She made the mailman wait two years.
Black and tan, orange reflective vest. Watch her: a growl, a wag, a step back. Each one means something.
It always takes her a second with you. Always has.
A bark
Nervous, talks a lot, talks to himself. Lives for radios and frequencies. The youngest on the team; this is his first big search.
On the radio and in the middle. That's where you put him.
Spectrum analyzer. Portable. Sort of portable. It shows you everything on the air.
Says little, and says it dry. Ex-army. Knows this forest better than anyone.
He draws the route. Even with you, he doesn't say much.
Nothing out there is a squirrel.
Charismatic, obsessive; he would do anything for the story. He's the one who found the Vance case.
He asked you for an interview. You said no.
Day one. Harlow State Forest. Ridgeway Seven went down eleven miles that way.
Skeptical, blunt, records everything. Most of the footage on the camera is hers.
One of the four you came to find.
You're doing the voice again.
Quiet, meticulous. His recorder is always running, and what he caught on tape matters.
One of the four you came to find.
It's always recording.
Young, scared, wants to go home. Her mom drove her scarf up so Juno could take the scent.
One of the four you came to find.
Can we do the documentary voice inside? I can't feel my toes.
Some people in Harlow have no file. You will meet them anyway.
